How about a Happy Weekend Sale? When you think there is nothing to celebrate, give yourself a reason!
It’s in full flow, and sales are going very well. Thank you !! I have conjured up a picture in my mind; let me share it with you…
If this website were an actual shop, an actual bricks and mortar building, with a front door and a till, and smiling shop assistants in aprons ready to assist – you wouldn’t believe it!! It would be absolutely heaving!! You would not believe how many customers were in at one time! Even at 8am. Even at 10pm. People have certainly changed the way they shop – that’s for sure! Online has most certainly taken over from the high street, eh.
I was reading a thing online earlier that a friend had posted. It was about how couples date nowadays, compared to back in the 40’s; then all through the years, right up to today. Back in the day, we met our potential partners, our husbands and wives, mostly through family, through friends, through church. As the years rolled on, the percentages changed. Less through family, certainly less through church, more in pubs and clubs, but still (nil point) 0% online with dating apps. In the year 2000 it all started to shift- very quickly too. Dating increased exponentially online, until 2024, where over 60% of all relationships are started online. Baffling, eh? Here are the graphs…
Well, I think that shopping has followed the same trajectory. I mean, most of us remember mail order catalogues. Which one did your Mum us? My Mum used Grattan and Littlewoods. I remember them well. I suppose it was a way to split the cost too. I remember Mum always complaining that come Christmas, she was usually still paying for the Christmas before “on tick”.
But back to the online sale we are running at Clarity this weekend, until midnight Monday. It’s up to 50% off pretty much ALL things Clarity, and usually 40% off most of the rest. It will set us in good stead for the upcoming weeks, until we know what’s going on at C&C, and give us a chance to figure out a plan.
The good thing about Clarity is that we are manufacturers. The bad thing about Clarity is that we are manufacturers. The good thing is we make our own products, so we have more control. The bad thing is that production lines come with substantial fixed costs. So it’s a bit of a balancing game right now.
But we are very grateful for all the love and positive/practical support pouring in! It’s at times like this, when you really see the measure of a person, don’t you think? As my lovely friend Carron always says,
“There are fountains and there are drains. Be a fountain!”

Oh wow, I’m a fountain, always sprouting a leak, following any emotional leakage, be it sad or happy tears! but mostly happy. Taking joy In the little things, like singing the song ” I see the moon” and I surely did in all its glory, on my way to work this morning. Got well emotional with God’s creation.
Sale 50% oh wow, I’ll have to have a little shop. Will you?

Interesting and our age group certainly know how things have changed.
I was shocked today- I needed a storage unit, wallpaper and a stool so I went to my local DIY store. I used to love browsing and I’d spend ages and always buy something I hadn’t planned on buying. Well today the shock was the lack of stock in the shop. Not much choice at all so I think it’s a sign that even DIY is bought online. Mind you I’m glad I didn’t have to buy my partner online- don’t think I would have bothered 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Anyway I’m glad that Clarity have an online shop and I’ve taken advantage of the sale. Thankyou Clarity! Might even visit the store again. And I also know there are lovely staff behind the scenes who I am lucky enough to meet in person from time to time!

I used to work for Grattan catalogues, when the children were little. In those days, the parcels were delivered at 6:30 am, dumped in your house and one had to sort, pack, then deliver before 8pm. Great fun, haha, and a good little job for the kids helping. I could take them with me while delivering, and the 2 dogs! Happy days.

Browsing the website everything so tempting lots of things in basket unfortunately some of which will need to go back on your shelves as can’t afford everything I’d like.
Interesting how high the numbers are for meeting partners on line now. Met my late husband at a dance,back in the 60’s. But agree most of my shopping done on line. Must say Clarity are brilliant at getting orders out quickly and if needed the best customer service around. Difficult times for you with the Create and Craft situation being so much “up in the air” ,hopefully will be settled soon.
Great sale time. I love the charts but would love to see the percentage of couples still together ,I do wonder what the world is coming too.

Think most firms keep less stock now in the shops since COVID! Well I for one have already put an order in and cant wait to see the parcel winging its way to me! If there is anything we can do to keep the good ship clarity keep afloat then it’s something we should do. Look after yourselves and cut yourself a bit of slack xx
Thank you for the weekend sale, I must check my wish list. My order from Wednesday has been despatched, and I did tell myself I really hadn’t order anything else for a while, but with your weekend sale, how can I resist. xx
I think our shopping habits changed during Covid & we have just carried on knowing that we can buy most things at anytime of the day from the comfort of our own homes. Like others have said I have noticed the shop shelves are not so full these days which in turn puts you off going to mooch round the stores.
Thanks Barbara for giving us some to celebrate over the weekend, it would be rude not to go have a browse through the pages to see what I need/ haven’t got already !!
So much has changed in recent years and I think the Covid lockdown accelerated it too. Some change is for the better, others are less so, but the world carries on turning

I’ll have a little browse tomorrow whilst hubby is out at his walking rugby! Still haven’t unpacked my last Clarity box, so maybe I need to do a bit of sorting too, so that there is space for new “kit”.

Lovely to have another sale. Unfortunately I have everything I need so unable to take advantage this time.
I met my first husband while working in a pub for additional income to save for a deposit on a house. We were married for 19 years when he had a heart attack and died. Five years later I married Ray. He had been a co-worker and friend for 16 years and everyone said it wouldn’t last. They were wrong. We celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary next week. He’s a good and loving man and makes me laugh every day. I am so lucky.
Missed the shows today but will catch up over the weekend.

My order is sat and being added to here and there. My Mum used to have GUS catalogue and I remember me and my sister used to go through it saying what we’d like ! Anyway I’m glad people are enjoying the sale ! Have a good weekend ! X

Oh good another excuse to buy some Clarity loveliness…to be honest, if I saw that heaving shop I would turn around and walk away as I have a problem with crowds but on the other hand there are no proper craft shops left in my area so thank goodness for t’internet ! I’m still single as are a few friends my age ( 36) even through church there’s just no eligible bachelors lol.
I’ve tried online , maybe need to give that another go. I dont drink so it’s not gonna be a club/pub. people keep on saying he’s out there somewhere. I hope so.

Thank you for the sale and being a lovely person. I must admit I did wonder why people shop on a Saturday if they don’t need to , I think you are right in your observation it’s to see other people.
I have a wish list of clarity products and I now have quite a few on the way, I really need to get my decorating finished so I can play. It doesn’t help when I’ve listened to my children, both grown up, and painted a wall and doors in a colour they suggested, oh dear it’s not for me tomorrow’s job is covering it in white and starting again.
