Thursday’s Blog is always blue…
Hi there.
Thanks for popping in. The weather’s definitely on the turn down here in the south east of England. Jumpers, socks and boots back out! Flip flops be gone! Maybe we’ll have an Indian Summer? I guess we just have to be grateful we’re not being flooded, or on fire, or in a landslide. I can cope with cool and wind, mixed with rain, can’t you?
Right. Thursday’s blog is always blue. So let’s take a peek at a blue project I am hoping to tackle tomorrow on Create & Craft TV at 9am. I shall be using the new Backdrop Stamps we are launching. Lookie lookie!
I’m telling you, these are so so lovely! Remember the trees last month? Now we have the rest of the story – so far! A little bird told me that there’s a final Christmas Layout and accompanying silhouette stamps in the pipeline too! To round up the lovely Layout Collection.
Right then. How about a little Blog candy? Something to get your creative juices flowing. How about we have a little guessing game? Which ink pads did I use here? Put your guess below. Just have a go. As I always say. you’ve #gottabeinittowinit ! You got until 9am tomorrow morning to have a guess. Then tune in to watch and see if you’re correct. I’ll give a £20 Clarity Gift Voucher to EVERY correct answer. If you DO guess it, you have my total respect! This is an inky challenge for sure! I’ll announce the winner on TV too! Let me give you a clue…more than one and less than four!
Before I crack on with my day, and get ready to trundle up to the TV studios, let me just remind you that Paul is on TV this afternoon, at 1 and 5. Head over to our other Claritymatters.com blog, to read all about it! CLICK HERE
Enjoy the shows.
Love always,
Barb x x x

Just read yesterday and today’s blog in one. It looks like we have lots to look forward to. Never doubt that your team are ‘like minded people’ as your enthusiasm for the art etc attracts the right sort. Turning to today’s blog – reckon the ink is ARCHIVAL INK PAD – WATERING CAN INK-AR-50034-XX. Not that I own this particular colour. Sure today and tomorrow’s shows are going to be successful.
Well, there’s a challenge, apart from Archival black for the car, although doing a close up it could be the same colour as the rest ! Let’s go for a mix Archival Night Sky and Shadow Grey.
Love the project though and look forward to seeing it done !
It’s a bit the same here weather wise but going to get hot again end of next week and into the following which is good as we’re going away to Seatown/Charmouth/Lyme Regis !
X
Absolutely socks and boots weather now!
At least when it floods here in the UK we don’t have to worry about alligators or crocodiles in the flood waters like some counties do!!!!!!!!!!! A definite bonus!
Hopefully we might get a few more warmer days before we have dig out winter coats and hats!
I think you have used uncharted mariner distress oxide and archival night sky for the demo.
I have set the TV to record the shows so will have to watch later – pesky work gets in the way….! Can’t retire for another 4 years 8 months……………who’s counting…….
Wet and windy here today but nothing new for Wales. I’m not very good with guessing ink pads but think you have used a black archivel also distress oxide black soot and maybe uncharted mariner. Will be looking in at 9am tomorrow.xx
Me 5 years and 1 week.
Phew, finally receiving your blog posts. Technology and I are not the greatest of friends!
Looking forward to the shows tomorrow and the reveal of the colours used.
Gosh what a challenge! But Im going to go with –
Distress oxides Black soot
Distress oxides chipped sapphire
This is a tricky one. I’m going for black archival, distress oxide Hickory Smoke and Iced Spruce.
Looking forward to the shoes tomorrow x
Ha ha shows not shoes!
Black archival,
Unchartered mariner distress oxide and weathered wood
distress would be my guess.
Look forward to more demos on the TV tomorrow
I love these silhouette stamps!
I think you’ve used archivals, black and cornflower.
Looking forward to tomorrow’s shows. xx
Will be watching (and buying) on telly tomorrow. Love the look of these stamps.
I have recorded Paul’s shows today to watch at my leisure later, busy day today. I have these plates already as I am a great fan of Linda’s designs and look forward to seeing
Paul’s creations.
Safe travels.
Just finished catching up and watching Paul’s shows, only one word for them B-R-I-L-L-I-A-N-T!! What fabulous techniques. Im very new to the inking world so may hit an own goal here, but willing to try. The fact that it’s a blue day. I think you’ve used a Black Archival and Faded Blue Jeans toned down with a bit of black applied with a spot on sponge. Cant wait for your shows tomorrow, I love the tips and tricks I pick up from you all. Thank you, thank you, thank you xXx
Looking forward to the shows. I haven’t got a clue about the colours although I would imagine you have used black archival at least. I’m not seeing colours quite as I should at the moment as waiting for my first cataract operation. Have a safe journey xxx
I love these stamps and look forward to seeing you work your magic tomorrow. It’s so nice to have stamps that are suitable for male cards. Men/boys are always so awkward! I reckon you’ve used Black Archival, and distress oxides…Black Soot and Faded Jeans. Safe travels to Peterborough x
It’s been quite windy today, mostly fine, but stronger winds are forecast for early morning, recorded Pauls first show, watched the second, hopefully will be able to watch some of your shows tomorrow, and will be recording as well. May have a visitor in the morning, & during your later show, at the Dr’s for my shingles and pneumonia injection, hopefully the wind will not be as strong then. The stamp designs look brilliant, very classy, but as for the ink colours, not sure, but will give it a go with Archival Jet Black and Watering Can, and Distress Weathered Wood. Safe travels. xx
This is a tricky one indeed! I’ve been racking my brain and looking at swatches but I just can’t quite narrow it down – not even sure if you’ve used archival or distress! However, as you say, got to be in it to win it so my guess is distress ink in weathered wood, speckled egg, and uncharted mariner.
Looking forward to the show tomorrow, these new stamps look fabulous! Hope you’ve fully rested and recovered from the retreat, it was such a wonderful two days.
I love how versatile these stamps are, just by changing the colours and inking techniques. I used this stamp today with heat embossing – a complete contrast! Hope the shows go really well tomorrow – I’ll be watching on catch-up in the evening – other commitments are getting in the way!
After a few days away with 4 generations of family I am now sat catching up with all things Clarity.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with the new stamps – the DT samples are great as always – so much inspiration that the products just have to fall into my basket.
As to the inks used – they are not as blue as I thought they may have been so I will go with Black Archival with Unchartered Mariner & Weathered Wood distress oxides.
Just finished a 50th Anniversay Card using one of Linda’s layout groovi plates, look forward to catching up with Paul’s shows later & watching your shows live tomorrow. My guess at the colours are Archival Shadow Grey & Watering Can & Distress Ink Stormy Sky. Best Wishes xxx
I always set the telly to record the shows in case I want to re-watch a demo, (the problem is then finding the demo because I have so many shows recorded!) 😂😂
I’m looking forward to your demos, it looks as though this could be artwork that’s easy to achieve but looks difficult which is my favourite! The wow factor without the aargh factor. 😂
My guess for the inks are black archival plus distress oxides iced spruce and hickory smoke.

Great show yesterday from Paul I really love those Linda Williams designs! my guess for today is that you have used Archival black and distressed weathered wood and hickory smoke.
Looking forward to the shows. I think distress inks uncharted mariner, stormy skies and tumbled glass
Great 9am show Barbara, I loved the demos! 😊 The blend of colours (you tricky trickster,) 🤣 on the car were really effective, your £20 vouchers are safe. 🤣😂🤣
I picked up lots of great tips and ideas – thank you. 🙌

Hi Barb, I wish I had read the blog last night, can’t guess now after watching the show! Told myself I was not going to succumb, as I already had the trees from last month. Lasted all of about 10 minutes!! Loved the demos this morning, especially the flowers using the brayer, going to try that one. And I think my bank manager just gave a really big sigh, me having read about a Christmas layout and silhouette stamps. You really know how to get our attention!! Looking forward to the 1pm show. Safe travels home after the shows, hopefully the Traffic Gods are kind today. Keep your fingers crossed for me, hubby’s co-worker’s 12 year old daughter is coming for a crafty day on Monday. She has been bullied badly at school this year and has a severely disabled brother, so because she always goes crazy over any of the cards I make for the family, we thought we could at least give her a day all to herself. She loves doing arty things and most of what I have planned is around Clarity products. She may just go home with a bit of my stash too ;-). Take care all. Bx
Hoping to get to play with my tree set soon, as it arrived last week. I love this positive/negative concept! Maybe some stencils with shapes like this would be fun too – half circles and squares maybe? Then you could do inking and contrast stamping!!! Pretty please x
