Thursday – Always Blue..ish!
Hi there
Thanks for popping in. I got caught up making little cards today, out of the new 4×4 inch card blanks and envelopes that are pouring out of the Pinky Gray printroom at the moment, in readiness for our 31st Birthday weekend on Create & Craft!
I used a print I had made using the new leafy layering stencils, which wasn’t very exciting as a whole. In fact, I didn’t even bother taking a photo of it. Yep. That good. It was just one of a whole pile of prints I pulled whilst putting the stencils through their paces, figuring out how best to present them.
So I chopped it up into 4 smaller toppers, ran round the edge with a black Sharpie pen, and added a splash of white with a thin Posca pen…
And suddenly, the whole little thing, quarter of a print that I wasn’t in love with, and was happy to chop up, started to come alive.
… which just goes to show you, that it’s over when YOU decide it’s over. And the best news is : I’ve got another three of these to make! And I know where I’m headed now! Happy days.
So tomorrow, Paul and I head up to the TV studios for the weekend. Am I looking forward to it? I am looking forward to finally launching what we have been working on for months! There comes a point when you just need to hit the GO button! No amount of prep and planning will add any more to the shows now! So at 6pm tomorrow evening, it begins. Linda’s lovely Floral Alphabet. She told me a few things about the designs, which were interesting too…
There are over 70 different flowers and leaves in total. Each letter has about 3 different flowers, and each flower will not be found on any more than 3 letters. You will not find the same combination of flowers on any of the letters. Apparently, Linda kept a complex log of all the flowers she used, to ensure this. In addition, there is a floral Plate Mate, packed with whole flowers. Hang on…. I’ll show you just one piece of artwork by Frances, so you understand how exquisite this work is…
Grace and Paul have got TV times and products already posted over on our Clarity Matters blog. They have even included a couple of old videos from the good old days! Dean Wilson and Shrink Plastic. We are still good friends, you know. We speak most weeks. He is a smashing fella. He really REALLY makes me laugh, like few can. Dave’s another one. And my brother Steve. You know what I mean. There are certain people who can just crack you up with one line. And let’s face it – laughter is good for the soul; it’s like a good medicine, innit.
Anyway, time to go pack a suitcase.
Love always

That is such a beautiful card you’ve made from a print you weren’t in love with. That’s all about creativity. Looking forward to Sunday and the new stencils. Safe journey. xxx
Just goes to show… 😂
I love that leaf print! I also like the way you have used the white posca pen! I shall have to look at those lovely 4×4 cards. They are more the sizes enjoy working with! Safe travels!
4×4 is the new 5×5!! 🤣🤣🤣
Looking forward to the lovely floral alphabet and plate mate. Linda is so
talented, the shows will be great. What a busy weekend for Clarity. Safe journeys.

It is a privilege to launch this artwork by Linda xxx
Safe travels tomorrow!
I can’t wait to see all the samples and demos that have been prepared.
And looking forward to seeing all the shows you have over the weekend. I know it’ll be hard work for you and Paul especially on Saturday but I’m sure it’ll all be worth the effort.
Lots of love and hugs as always.
Jane xxxx
Thanks Jane xxx
Chopping up the leafy print and adding the Posca pen was a brilliant idea. Very creative and no wastage.
I have all the programmes set to record so I don’t miss anything. The taster sample of the alphabets is lovely and to have a plate mate to go with the Groovi plate is great.
We have had a stressful few weeks waiting for results of medical tests but it seems that things are holding and we can look forward to a few months of respite. This weekend is going to be a relaxing one for us with Clarity.
Safe travels for you and Paul tomorrow.
Good news on the health front ! Very good news xxx
Wow! That card by Linda I thought was little stamped flowers, it’s exquisite, then I realised it was on parchment ! The 4 X 4’s are so neat and tidy I love them. You were right the white pen brought it right out of its shell. I’m looking forward to the show, you and Dean are a great double act. Have a good trip. Xxx
It’s a Frances Knott masterpiece. Xxx
I have the shrink plastic video and also the one where Dean splits his trousers which is hysterical both saved on YouTube
And guess who I am working with at 6 pm!!!
I’m so loving what you’re managing to achieve with these leafy stencils, it’s truly amazing. I am so excited in anticipation of the up and coming Birthday celebration shows, I just know they’re going to be brilliant. And the floral alphabet is exquisite, they are so beautiful, classy and very elegant.
It was the best days work I ever did when I discovered the shac shac in lock down. I feel very fortunate to belong to a very warm, safe and friendly Clarity family. And, for that I will always be very grateful to you xXx
That’s made my day Penny. Thank you xxx
Safe travels and Happy Clarity Birthday. So looking forward to getting hold of the new stencils on Sunday.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with them! Xxx
Love how your print ended up, as you say its not over until its over & the white posca pen certainly made the design pop.
Have just read the claritymattersblog but need to go back & watch the videos which I will do in a bit after WDYTYA finishes.
Hope the traffic isn’t too bad tomorrow on your journey up to the studios so you get there without too much hassle – did Paul get his car sorted after his early arrival at Clarity Towers on Monday night for Groovi Tuesday ??
All set and ready to rock and roll Sue!! X
Wow, they are beautiful, can’t wait……! xxx

Hope you have a great birthday weekend, it sounds like you’re going to be really busy – nothing new there! I’m looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us, I’m sure it’ll be fabulous and inspiring as usual. Hope all goes well, (although a few bloopers are always good for a laugh – see what you can do). 😂😂

Well do the best we can! Xx
Am so looking forward to the weekend’s shows – so much in store!
Love these leafy prints – just amazing how a bit of doodling with a white pen can really lift a design!
Safe travels to the studios tomorrow. I’ll be busy getting the car serviced (or at least the mechanics will be – I’m just delivering it!! 😂)
All set and ready for lift off at 6 xxx
I absolutely adore the floral alphabet! I hope I get the chance to buy it! It really is beautiful xx

Looking forward to the shows, safe travels tomorrow. xx
Thanks janine xx
Hello Barb, I hope you and Paul have a good trip to the studios. The card sample you have shared is really beautiful. Linda is certainly a very talented designer when it comes to the groovi plates. Also love your little card made from that print, very arty and creative, the posca pen additions really makes the design jump out at you. Happy 31st Birthday Clarity, lets hope we get to spend many more happy crafty years together. Laughter is what makes us want to carry on. I remember the shrink plastic episode, going to watch the video again. Take care everyone enjoy the shows. Bx
And guess who I’m working with at 6?!?!
Remember watching the shrink plastic incident live. Couldn’t breathe for laughing. So looking forward to the stencils. Love all the detail on the Groovi but after trying for so long it’s not a craft for me but love what others make. Still
Have some Groovi plates but they are the easier ones as I know I would never finish those stunning details. Know your limits I say which is why I felt such Sense of relief when I despatched the cross stitch I bought to relax with to the charity shop as I had never been so stressed out with all the counting! Safe journey and enjoy the weekend shows
Lots of love to you Karen! Dean this evening at 6 too!! Happy day! Xxx
