Serenity

Serenity

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Ready for a little arty crafty intermezzo? Nothing too difficult. Nothing too challenging. Just a simple homage to Serenity – that wonderful state of calm.

Serenity. Beautiful word. Beautiful space.

Synonyms:

  • calm
  • hush
  • peace
  • peacefulness
  • placidity
  • quiet,
  • repose
  • tranquility
  • stillness

It’s all too easy to lose that gentle sense of calm in a storm, but it’s there inside you – always. You just have to release it. When we were doodling in the SHAC this morning, I found it – or rather, it found me. And within minutes I went from being wound up like a coil to happily doodling and humming a tune.

Serenity is that positive, weightless state of being calm, peaceful and untroubled. That point where ups and downs roll off you.

So here’s a little stamped reminder of the wonderful Serenity prayer, combined with our new seasonal wreaths…

Can you see where I found the semi-wreath? You’ll notice that I used a couple of the extra stamps in the set to embellish the half-wreath. I used the buff paper to stamp on and the white Posca pen to highlight the berries. All available in a little kit.

As for the verse itself, the Serenity prayer can be found in our Verses and Poetry Stampsets:

Travel gently.

Love always

  1. Thank you for today’s SHAC and blog….it really hit home….serenity has been sorely missing in the here and now for me. I need to get back into the creative process.

  2. Beautiful designs, beautiful stamps, beautiful sentiments! Looking forward to having a play with these goodies. Thank you Barbara, and for the SHAC – a real refuge of Serenity. Take care, stay safe and travel gently.

  3. Thank you for our lovely doodle session in the Shac Shac really enjoyed my hour losing myself in black wiggly lines and pearls. Looking forward to Monday. Hope you catch up on your sleep we know the M25 very well!

  4. Hi Barb..although I don’t often get to join in live as I’m in Canada…I watch on catch up ..I’ve been with you since the first show..doodling the birds..and can tell you I have enjoyed and appreciated each and every show..has calmed me through many of storms..and am looking forward to the two days a week ..you may not see my name in the live feed ..but be confident I am watching later…thanks for all you do.

  5. Thank you for the Shac today. I have these stamps, will have to look for them. Need to do a few near year cards. Thanks for all you do for us and looking forward to 2 days a week Xx

  6. Enjoyed the SHAC this morning although I realised that what I thought were reasonable sized pearls were in fact quite small so wondered why it was difficult to add shade. Never mind I will do some more later. Meanwhile I have stamped some of Sam’s doodle stamps & Tina’s Floral sprays onto some of your favourite designer papers to add some colour & shading to. 16 4 x 4 squares to make into cards – started my gifts for next Christmas !!
Once in the doodle/colouring zone you definitely calm down but can still listen to the TV at the same time !!

  7. Received these stamps today plus the smaller rounds. Very quick turn around considering how busy it was on tv. Thank you. Missed this mornings shac but will watch on youtube over the weekend. Spent this afternoon watching Paul’s demos. Now I am very relaxed.
    Stay safe.

  8. Seasonal wreath stamps are on their way, looking forward to having a play. Already have the poem stamps, a lovely set of brilliant meaningful verses. xx

  9. Hello Barb, a beautiful example of combining the wreath and verse stamps. Lovely poems to just sit and read, they all mean something to me. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  10. Hi Barbara this is a gorgeous card. We could all do with some serenity in our lives. Thank you for all you do to keep us calm. Have a good weekend. Take care. Hugs xxx

  11. I love that stamping on kraft card with a pop of white. So classy! Thanks for my birthday card from Clarity too. Another year older, but maybe not wiser!
