Here’s to a Happy New Year!

Here’s to a Happy New Year!

Hi there

Happy New Year! Went for a long walk up on the Southdown Forest with Grace and Dave this morning. Lots of folks had the same idea, but it was still pretty quiet. Perfect, sunny and warm.

Slowly I can feel my head kicking back into design and work mode. Break’s over, and the cogs are starting to turn again. Decided to start a monthly bulletpoint calendar, a simple, arty scrappy thing, to put on my desk and doodle on and add my thoughts, commitments and appointments to. On the back and front! Then I’ll collect all these random monthly scraps and build a diary out of them.

I used our Calender and Journal accessories set for the basic layout. It’s very easy to use, especially as Jim even furnished us with instructions!

I love the dotted bullet card. So cool!

Now I just have to think about the month ahead, and how I am going to travel through it gently and productively. Got lots going on, very busy January.  And that’s before anything unexpected happens! I’ve always been a big one for lists, but they are always on clinical, plain white A4 sheets of copy paper. Maybe it’s time to get a little artier about laying down my thoughts and plans. I am an artist after all! Dave and I are embarking on letterpress Posters together in January. I’m excited about learning and making letterpress posters with my husband. Great new plan for 2022.

But how do I cram the January TV shows and events into this Bullet page? Check out the list below!

  1. Cor…that’s handy, this was one of the things I got last week! (are you sure you haven’t got me taped somewhere?)
    Love
    Maggie (Bendy Yorkite)

  2. Love to all xx

  3. I’ve just purchased these items after watching Leonie using them in the Craft Store recently. I’m going to use them for my work “to do” lists and have one for each project to keep better tabs on things. The calendar format is just genius. Wishing you all the best with your future plans. Stay safe and well xx

  4. I love the fact that you say you are going to travel gently !! Blog land also added a quirk to your blog but I managed to read it by scrolling down slowly !!
Its nice that you have found a project to share with Dave – look forward to seeing the end results.
A walk through the forest sounds lovely but for now we are staying in the warm whilst OH fights off a cold – non covid related thankfully.

  5. Happy New Year to everyone.
Love your crafty journal, very arty.
So glad you posted this months schedule. I will be able to update my whiteboard now. It sits in front of hubby so he can see everything that is happening without a) getting it wrong and b) interrupting my crafting. So useful.
We have had a very relaxed holiday period. Went out today for the first time since 22/12 to pick up a few essentials as the shops were open. There were more staff than shoppers in the supermarket so we did a major shop, the most comfortable ever, and the streets were almost empty too.People probably recovering from last night!!!
Let us hope 2022 is a better year for everyone. Wishing you all a healthy and happy crafting year.

  6. My oh my you are going to be busy. I should have made myself busy but instead I’m afraid I have to admit to having had a very slovenly day. I didn’t get out of my pyjamas however, I did make 2 cards and cooked meals. I’ll try harder tomorrow I promise.

  7. Oh wow. I just started doing some stamping today with Sam’s journalling set to make a wee bullet journal for a friend who loves wild swimming. I want one for me now, so I may be in the craft room all week!!!

  8. Happy New Year, didn’t get my dog walk round Stanwick Lakes today. Daughter took loopy Tilly. Missed blowing away cobwebs but too much hip and knee pain. Shouldn’t have hit the baileys last nite. Anyway so pleased you and Dave are going to have such fun with the letterpress. Enjoy. My oh my you do have a busy itinerary in January. I’m renewing my membership and ordering the calendar journalism set tomorrow. Complementary of voucher from son for Xmas. Yay. Already have ideas buzzing in head, using alongside groovi. Well here’s to a much happier 2022. Love to you all ❤

  9. Hello Barb, what a super project idea. Another stamp set added to my wish list. Have to log all shows on my calendar so that I don’t forget. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  10. Wow! Thank you for the very comprehensive dates list. You really look after us well and will make January very enjoyable. Take care xx

  11. A slightly belated Happy New Year to you and the family. Think you’ll need a big piece of paper (lol) looking at the above. Wishing all a great 2022.

  12. I was looking at the calender, journal bits yesterday and thought couldn’t possibly use it but now definately wanting to have a go.
So much to look at this month, thank you for all of the wonderful work. Will be putting all the dates on my phone with reminders ( I need them, an age thing LOL).
Happy New Year to you all. x

  13. Hi Barb,
Happy New Year to you , Dave & family.
Well someone’s going to busy this month! I wasn’t going to get this set, but now having seen the project, I might just have to get it. I really need a calendar for my craft room , so this would fit the bill nicely. I miss not having a Clarity calendar. It’s great that you’ve given us a list of dates too – really useful idea.
Sending love and hugs, Alison xxx

  14. HaPpY NeW YeAr to y’all at Clarity Towers.
I’m loving the new shiny, unique, beautiful calendar & journaling stamp set. I was probs one of many wondering why there were repeats of numbers until Paul shed light on the puzzle. But I must say it was so useful for Leonie to stamp out the full set of numbers as it strangely helped me to understand what it was all about in the second demo hour. What a hoot! That’s why I love “Let Leonie Loose”…..you never know what you’re getting do you?
I’ve watched rewind several times to enjoy Leonie play with the stamps & join in with her wonderful humour!!
Looking forward to YouTube vids, specially from the fab Sam Crowe.
    Love & hugs, Sue. X

  15. What a lovely way to start 2022 and sounds like January is going to be another busy month but knowing I can spend lots of time with you, Barbara, as well as Paul and Linda calms me and excites me at the same time. I’m sure you and Dave will have a wonderful time with the letter press… look forward to seeing some of your master pieces. This stamp set is definitely going on my next shopping list, so I can have prettier lists to make and work through. Hope you enjoyed roast lamb dinner. Take care and stay safe… Much love, Nahid xXx 🙋🏼‍♀️🐈🦋💕
