How to use those Paint Gelpress Prints. A Step by Step.

How to use those Paint Gelpress Prints. A Step by Step.

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in! Happy Bank Holiday Monday! Happy Memorial Day in America! Happy last day of May Monday!

Yep. This year is certainly flying by! June tomorrow! What?!? But today is Monday, and in Clarity World, it’s the day we launch our Offer of the Week!

Love these Tag dies! From Mixed Media to fabric work, from Card-making and papercraft to running your own arty business, these tags and plaques are perfect. And at half price plus your Clarity Craft Club Discounts, they are a very worthy investment.

Personally I find tags ideal when I am looking to make an arty card. The tags provide me with a great and simple starting place, and allow for lovely layering with movement too.

If you watched the TV show on Friday at 3pm on the Craft Store, you will have seen me pulling Gelpress Prints with our new panel stencils.

Now these are BRILLIANT for use with the tags. ALL the Tag shapes work like a charm actually, and the stencil panels are the perfect fit for the dies too.

Here‘s a quick step by step I rustled up, using the Stencil prints and one of the new Lino Cut stamps. First decisions: which Tag shape? Which Size tag die? Where on the art print?

There’s so much more on the print to use! And then there’s the tiny tag for the message too.

Another print, same colours, more of the stencil panel, brilliant for the backdrop.

Time to tie it all in. Another print which is very light for the background would be good. There are always prints which don’t work as well as you might like. They are perfect for the matching background. Look!

Now I”m not a blingy kinda gal, but sometimes it looks pretty arty when there’s a flash of glitter. Now where did I put those large Pergamano diamante brads. Ideal! I know I know. The automatic reflex is to go for twine or grunge. But actually, why? This looks cool.

By attaching the tags to the grungy background with the brad, the card itself will not end up with a brad poking though.

The new Sticker Stamp work so well too. Use Archival (permanent ink) when stamping on acrylic paint.

Done. Simple. Arty. Making good use of Gelpress prints.

I think it’s important to see a link, a connection, between all the different products we present you with. Here for example, the tags are superb for chopping up those arty Gelpress prints – even the ropey ones. Now there are those who would say that there is no such thing as ropey prints. I would say that even the ropey ones have a place, a home in my stash!!

  1. Fantastic Barb! Yet another great piece of artwork 👌
Still keeping positive pottery vibes going for the big reveal! Take care, hugs 🤗 Gilly❤xx

  2. Wow. You’re on the ball this morning! You are definitely a morning person! Lovely card. It is a gorgeous day here again today so I will enjoy the sunshine although I think I enjoyed it a wee bit too much yesterday! Hope you have a good day. Hxx

  3. Thank you Barb!! I had not realised the potential of the lino stamps until you showed us about layering (like with the overlays) so I had to get the one with the mousey thompson lookalike (some folks call him the mouseman, he carved a mouse into all his wood products – based in Yorkshire).
    Hope your pots are OK.
    Love
    Maggie (Bendy Yorkite)

  4. Great card, loving the layers. When my latest order arrives, probably next week I will have all the stash needed so no excuse not to have a play.
Just packed some Groovi projects to do with one of my granddaughters over the next few days. She has always loved it but because of lockdown we haven’t been able to get together over the last year to sit & craft. I left her the Paisley & tag plates last week & she made some tags & bookmarks from memory having watched a little bit of Tina Cox & Paul that I quickly showed her on Facebook.

  5. Morning All, enjoyed the Shac Shack this morning, relaxing and comforting. Your words rang so true Barbara, {not waffling at all} about being self critical, something I have struggled with for many years and the pandemic has not helped! BUT trying to remove those negative thoughts, one day at a time and starting to slowly enjoy my crafting again. Looking forward to Groovi Tuesday tomorrow with Paul & Linda, fingers crossed the electrics will be sorted and the Moment of Clarity on Wednesday evening. Love the step by step today, might try and give it a go!
Have a wonderful time at your parents.
Happy Bank Holiday and Memorial Day everyone.
Enjoy the sunshine, take care, keep safe.

  6. I do love the way you put things together for us. This project is great. Fortunately (or unfortunately !!!) I have all of the tag dies so I can get going straight away. Also have too many grungy background papers to play with from my messy session the other day so this is an ideal chance to use them up.
Beautiful sunny day today, it really lifts the spirits. Looks like the week ahead will be just as good.
    Stay safe.

  7. Hi Barbara your artwork is gorgeous I love it. Tag dies are a favourite with me so this week’s offer is right up my street. Have a good week. Take care. Hugs xxx

  8. Love this step by step, such a lovely design. Hope the pottery in the kiln has turned out as expected. Have a good evening xxx

  9. Hello Barb, a fab step by step, great use of gel prints, and it makes the perfect card. I think the addition of the little touch of glitz with the brad really works well. Very Arty. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  10. Hi! I’m brand new to this and would love to follow you but I can’t see where to join? Where are your videos posted please?

    Many thanks
