Very Mixed Impressions again!

Very Mixed Impressions again!

Hi there,

Thanks for popping in. Just got back from a smashing day with Mum and Dad, helping them decorate their home for Christmas. Quick trip to the garden centre and then back indoors to deck the halls!

A quick pic demo today, showcasing those magnificent Mixed Impressions stamps I launched last Friday. What a game changer they are! I didn’t get to this one on TV.

1.First thing is to place the outside round mask from our SIMPLE SHAPES MASKSET (great price) on a piece of Clarity Stencil card, ink up the smaller A6 stamp from the By the Seaside Nature set with black Archival and plant to fit inside the round aperture.

2/3. With the mask still in place, load a Clarity stencil brush with Midnight Blue Artistry ink and start swirling blue ink around the perimeter. Let a layer dry, then repeat for the darker blue.

4. Remove the mask. Ink up the smaller Flyaway Boy and stamp into the space. My all time favourite stamp ever.

4.

Outline a phrase from my little sticker booklet and apply to give the card meaning. Very very simple. The background makes it. And it makes it what YOU see. Do you see hills? Rocks? A city? The seabed?

Here’s the same but different….

You see? Grungy background don’t always have to be messy. They can be clean too.

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Hi Barbara
Good to hear you’ve had a lovely day with your Mum and Dad, Christmas decorating. I’ve been decorating our tree as well!
You are so right about the new stamp sets being a game changer, they give us a whole new “direction” to go in! Really great backgrounds to stamp on to. My Christmas list just keeps on getting longer and longer! Ha, ha …

  2. Good to spend time with family.
Love your example and will have to be patient until my orders arrive – only 4 still outstanding. I have to admit I over indulged on Gray Friday and the ODS and was probably part of the log jam at Clarity Towers.
Re-joined the Clarity clubs this week, couldn’t do without my monthly “fix” and newsletter.
    Enjoy your weekend.

  3. Got mine down from the loft… Will try and get something decorated tomorrow. Soooooo much to do and the time is ticking! I love Christmas though so the glitter and tinsel will be out before long. Xx

  4. Hi Barb, glad you had a good day with your parents. Thank you for the demos, it’s helping me to ‘get’ your new stamp concept. Love the artwork.

Is it your house’s turn to be decorated tomorrow?
Christmas seems to have started here too today. First I saw Misself walking up the lane at the back, she’s changed her hair colour and put on a bit of weight though, fair wabbit she looked too!!! Then a few minutes later a young family who lives a couple of houses up walked past carrying their Christmas tree. I wonder how many pine needles will be left on that by the time it gets to the 25th!!! Poor souls. I guess I better make the effort tomorrow too after chores, put up my meagre cat friendly decs. Might even try muster up something new to add to them now I’ve finished Christmas making.

Hope you have a good Sunday. Love you xxx

  5. Hi Barb,
Pleased you’ve had a lovely day with your Mum and Dad – I bet they were so happy that you were there too. Lovely demos too – I can’t wait for my ODS to arrive so that I can get to play and try out new backgrounds. I was going to put up our decorations tomorrow ,but I forgot I’m at a Linda Page’s Groovi class at CC HQ, which I’m really looking forward to. It will have to be Monday for decorations providing I can persuade Dave to go up into the loft to get them out! There’s one certain fact – I can’t do it myself! Sending love and hugs,Alison xxx

  6. Great step by steps Barbara, love those new stamps, on order Christmas pressy. Lovely spending time with your parents. Have a good Sunday.xxx

  7. Getting our decorations out in next few days cannot get in swing of Christmas this year so much going on but really need to this week force my self into it glad your mum dad are okay love demo xxx

  8. Hi Barb, so glad to hear you spent time time decorating with Mum and Dad. Our deccies are finally all up, took us about a week! Love the look of these background stamps and they are certainly on my wish list. Need to take a look at the shape masks too, very handy. Take care all. Bx

  9. Absolutely loving the new stamp sets and can’t wait to see which ones Santa leaves under the Christmas tree for me !

  10. Love this demo and have just had notification that my stamps will arrive tomorrow. I can’t wait to have a play with them, and have lots of time off work between Christmas and New Year to do just that. I have so many ideas in my head – let’s hope most of them end up on cards for next year’s birthdays, and not in my learning journal (full of notes and examples of why things didn’t quite work!) x
