A One Day Special Step by Step….
Hi there,
Thanks for popping in. Got back from a fabulous weekend with my dear friend Anita, and decided to do a little arty step by step before another good friend turns up all the way from the North East! Sam Crowe is en route! Woohoo!! I am indeed very lucky to have so many good people in my life.
But let me get this artwork sorted first. You see, Lovely Lou is doing a One Day Special right now on HOCHANDA, last call at 5pm. And she has got an excellent offer on the A4 A5 A6 etc canvas boards, including double-sided adhesive sheets and the stands – most of which I have used in this artwork, and which I use A LOT! Plus you basically get the 4 new geo stencils free.
So do check out the special offer on HOCHANDA before 6pm. The reason I am encouraging you to invest in this size canvas board is also because next week, on Friday at 6pm, lovely Dee Fitzsimmons and I will be launching Dee’s brand new and superb art – and I shall be reaching for these canvases then again! The A sizes works perfectly with Dee’s designs. Right. Let me show you what I have rustled up for you today….
Reach for a copy paper scrap. Decide which part you are going to mount on your A6 mountboard. Beautiful stamp by our Mel ;
Tree Rows StampsetStamp in Archival black and use the registration marks to guide. See how I masked off the base of the stamp? Add a little yellow ink with a blending pen, and watch the blue underneath go green. Magic. Use the mask to cover up the trees Best to cut as shown here. Much MUCH easier to position! Perfect…. Tear a paper hill and brush in a background hill, …or two. Uncover the trees, and just brush yellow top to bottom. Here’s something very special being launch with Dee’s stamps next week.
Sentiment Sheets to go with her art. These aren’t stickers. We wanted to inclkude them with every stampset, so printing sheets was a more cost effective solution. But we’ll make them stickers. See? You NEED the adhesive sheets!! Cut the sentiment you want out with a craft knife and ruler. Yesss. But we won’t add the words.
Not quite yet…
Outline the hills with a micron pen.Position the canvas board by holding to the light, so you can see the art work. Make registration marks on the back, and cut like so: Decoupage Kleber (adhesive) Wonderful stuff. Paint onto the canvas board – NOT the copy paper! Lay wet side down on the back of the artwork, and press down to flatten. Wrap the 4 flaps round the A6 canvas board… …2 sides at a time. Perfect! I LOVE how it wraps round the sides. Look! Copy paper is perfect. And you can still see the canvas board texture through the paper. Stickes in place.
And suddenly, the whole piece make sense.More adhesive on the back, And attach to the larger canvas board. All done. And lovely.
Sign it. Own it. It’s your art.
There you go. Grab the ODS canvas boards and bonus stencils before 6pm . We’ll need them next week. And then wait for the Dee Fitzsimmons launch. I have a feeling her A5 and A4 stamps, complete with masks and sentiment sheets, will fly.
Aha!! Sam has just landed! Gottago !!! She’s come down to record youtubes! How exciting. Honestly, I am surrounded by talented women.
Love & Hugs,
Barb xxxx

Absolutely gorgeous, and the way you break it down makes it achievable for us mere mortals.
Can I please just say how much I enjoyed Lou’s demonstrations today? I actually felt that I really could do that! Well done Lou and thank you for explaining everything so clearly (& with humour).

Loved the shows, I have a rather large stash of canvas boards so didn’t get the ODS this time. Lou is so good at teaching and showing how to build up a canvas, will have a play when I finish some card orders. Xx

Haven’t watched all Lou’s shows yet, but not sure all this ” messy” is for me. We’ll see.

Can’t wait to see what Sam shares with her YouTube videos. Love the new printed sentiments.
Hi Barb, how great that Sam has come to record YouTubes. Love your step by step artwork, it is so clearly laid out and easy to follow and create ourselves. Looking forward to Dee’s shows. Take care all. Bx

YouTubes by Sam Crowe – I’m a little over-excited! It’s just too far for me to get to her workshops, so that will be the next best thing – thank you x
