Time to celebrate!

Time to celebrate!

Hi everyone!

Paul here, standing in for Barb whilst she has a bit of “time out” with the lovely Dave.

I thought I would take this opportunity to give a shout out about the wonderful Clarity Open Days in 2019.

In June we have a brand new venue, Ditton Community Centre near Maidstone and in September we return to the beautiful setting of Tennants Auction House in Leyburn.

So what is an Open Day?
An open day is all about celebrating everything Clarity and the fantastic Clarity family. Each day is a day full of fun, laughter and inspiration from Barbara and members of the design team. We have hourly raffles (amazing prizes!), tombola, special offers, £100 prize draw and free parking, what more could you ask for!
If you are into Stamps, Stencils, Parchment Craft, Dies and all things crafty, then we have it covered at Clarity!

It is a great day (or 2) where you get the chance to watch live demonstrations and meet lots of like minded crafters.

I know that a lot of friendships have been formed by people attending the Open Days and it is a great chance to get together and make some more!
Take a look at this little video to see what it is all about!

At the Ditton Open Days, we will be holding a free “Snip Clinic” (ouch!) where you can learn to Picot Cut and also a free “Make & Take”.

If you would like to purchase a ticket, then click the links below, or give the office a call on 01732 868215 and the girls in the office will sort you out.

I also have the honour of announcing the winner of the Woodland Wildlife Stencil Blog Competition from the 1st April.

Did you guess how many woodland animals and name them?
Hedgehog, Squirrel x 2, Field Mouse, Woodpecker, Hare/Rabbit, Frog/Toad and Nuthatch/Blue Tit.

Well a winner has been chosen and it is………………………..

Margaret Rogers – Congratulations!

Margaret did make me chuckle with her answers, she actually gave them all names!

This is what Margaret wrote:
1 – Freddy Frog (or maybe Terence the Toad)
2 – Woody Woodpecker
3 – Sammy the Grey Squirrel
4 – Susie the Grey Squirrel (Sammy’s sister)
5 – Horace the Hedgehog
6 – Fenella the Field Mouse
7 – Hilda the Hare
8 – Beryl the Blue Tit

Margaret, please contact Jeannine at the office and she will send you your prize.

Well, that’s all from me today. I hope you can come back tomorrow, as I have something special lined up to share with you!
(whilst Barb’s away, Paul will play!)

Happy Crafting
Paul xxx

  1. Well done Margaret and a brilliant idea to give them all names, how fab. I wish I lives closer as would love to come to an open day. Hey ho. Xx

  2. Well done Margaret, love the names. I have booked my tickets for the Open Days both in Ditton and Leyburn and one for Fred as well. Would hate him to miss me emptying the bank account. Excellent days. xx

    1. Hey Lynne, now I know where I’m going wrong🤔
If the Open Days ever hit Leicestershire I’ll remember your wisdom & buy hubby a ticket too……he’ll be so thrilled I’m sure🥰

  3. Well done Margaret..open day tickets purchased always a great day out . Looking forward to retreats next week

  4. Congratulations Margaret!! Fab names 💖
I am going to try my upmost to get to the open days. Last year was so amazing as we prepared for the wedding of the year! The cakes went down a treat and you were all so generous, donating to Samuel’s fund and making it possible to me to go to the conference in New York. This year, my main aim will be to learn picot cutting properly! I am soooo bad at it, I need help hahaha. I look forward to seeing you all and will have big hugs ready for Barb, Dave and a Paul and anyone else who wants one 😄 xxx

  5. Hello Paul,
Congratulations Margaret, enjoy your prize. I second everything Paul says about the Open Days. They are so good I go to both days in Kent as well as the day in Leyburn.
    Hope to see you there,
    Love
    Roz.xxx

  6. Congratulations Margaret. Funnily enough I found my list today that I had made at the time of the original post but couldn’t decide at the time what bird it was.
I plan to be at Leyburn Open Day as the Ditton dates clash with some grandchildren minding. Convinced the OH that Yorkshire would be lovely at the end of September & he was quite taken with the Steam Railway nearby.

  7. So thrilled my Alphabet plates have arrived ( ok I did have them checked out 4 mi utes into your show Paul but blooming heck this was so fast usual fantastic team effort
    Thank you

  8. Well done Margaret, enjoy your prize.
Just been advised my orders are on the way – hope they arrive before the weekend as we will be off to the retreat.
    Really looking forward to it.

  9. Congratulations Margaret – really love your sense of humour! A very deserving winner!
I am very sad that I won’t be able to go to any of the Open Days this year – what a fantastic day out they are!
Thanks for standing in doing the blog Paul – I have also had an email about a ‘Spring Clean Sale’ ! Are you responsible for that too?
Bearing in mind my lack of space at the moment, and for the foreseeable future I shouldn’t even look! Maybe just a little peak!?!
Love and hugs to you Paul and everybody on the blog, Gilly xxx

  10. Hope the open days go well – can’t make either I’m afraid. Well done Margaret on winning the competition – great names!

  11. Well done for winning the stencil comp -love the names!! I am thrilled you will be at Ditton. I may be able to make it for a couple of hours as I’m guessing it’s wheelchair friendly and disabled parking? haven’t been to anything Clarity for years now so will see if I can do it. Do we need to pre-book or tickets on the door please?

  12. Hello Paul, good to hear from you. I did ask my mate to grab a hug from you at AllyPally but sadly you were busy, or so she said😞
My ODS parcel arrived today. A lovely surprise. Love them….all 26.🥰
Do you want the plastic sleeves back? It seems a waste to chuck them. I am very aware how much waste I make these days. I hate tape runners for this reason, unless they have refill tape. Sainsburys hate it when they have to try to keep my 6 apples or oranges on the scales without a plastic bag!🙈

  13. Thanks Paul and well done Margaret. I hope Barbara and Dave enjoy their well deserved down time, before another busy weekend.
I am off for an early night. Hugs. Annette X

  14. Hi Paul,
My tickets are already booked for the Leyburn weekend. For anyone in doubt about the Open Days, don’t be! They are fantastic – great way to meet friends, (new and old), and it is amazing how much you learn from the wonderful team who are doing the demos. All of the team are so helpful. Tennants in Leyburn is a fantastic venue. Just make sure you take plenty of money or a credit card because you will be tempted by all of the goodies!!!
Congratulations to Margaret – I did like the names. Thank you Paul for standing in for Barb and I can’t wait to see what your naughtiness produces this time! Love Alison x

  15. Thanks for standing in Paul, hopefully there will not be too much mischief while Barb and Dave are away. Well done Margaret, enjoy your prize. It was a brilliant answer actually naming the animals. One day I will be able to attend one of the open days. Take care all. Bx

  16. You have these great open days in the south and north, what about us in the middle. Somewhere in Cambridge would be super

    1. Yes please. As we find long journeys are no longer viable for us this would be manageable from Norfolk although Peterborough is closer.

  17. What service!!!
Advised delivery of floral alphabet was on its way at 3.19pm yesterday and received it at 9.35am this morning.
    Thank you Clarity.

  18. Hi Paul
Only just seen your blog from yesterday, and it really gave me a lift to see that I had won the stencil name the animals game. Love giving them all names, seems to give them life. thanks to everyone for the congratulations. Not able to get to any of the open days, unless you ever get up to West Yorkshire!, but looking forward to seeing you all at Port Sunlight in May. x
