This Love won’t let you fail.

This Love won’t let you fail.

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in.
Felt the need to express myself in a little canvas today.
Been spending essential time with the kids. Good talks.
Theirs are not my stories to tell, but boy! Have I listened.
And I remember how hard it is growing up, finding your feet in business, making a living.
Do you? Do you recall?
Hats off to my two for making it so far so good –
Especially in New York and San Francisco!
That really is a long long way from home.
So this canvas and the song I have pinned at the bottom are for both Grace and Mark.
Using the blotted piece from our best selling stencil,
Added a crescent moon – some light
and a few hills – or hurdles – with a brush and torn paper.
And with this little stamp we hung the moon.
Then we trimmed the paper, and added registration marks
to centre the circle on the front.
We covered the canvas board with adhesive,
and wrapped the paper around the board.
Added a piece of double-sided adhesive to the back,
…and mounted the piece on the next size canvas board, to frame.

Canvas sizes 6″x 6″ on 8″ x 8″
I have always seen a young mother and her daughter in this stamp.
But today I saw the boy, the brother, on the step ladder.

So there we are.
The world is their oyster.

If you have time to listen to this song by Chris Wood, it really IS wonderful. From the parent to the child….

Love & Hugs,
Barb (aka Mum)

  1. Hi Barb,
Love the canvas and I can see why you think of Mark and Grace in the stamp. They are both a credit to you and you should be proud ( I know you are!) Just listened to the song and it is wonderful. I've never heard of Chris Wood but if this is anything to go by, I will listen out for more. Thank you.
    Love and hugs, Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Been a beautiful day up here today but boy is it cold!!! Forecast for heavy snow tomorrow so I won't be going out. Hope everyone is safe and warm, love and hugs, Alison xx

  2. We're home after two hectic but lovely weeks with family. When our son and daughter were babies I used to look at them and wonder what they would be like as adults. Now 37 and 40 years on I am proud of them both but wonder where the years went. Love the canvas it says a lot xx

  3. I will need to listen to the song tomorrow but I reckon you can certainly be proud of your kids. I love listening to mine, was having a lovely mother and son chat this morning. xx

  4. I love the canvas, and the stamp too. I got this one as I saw a mother and daughter but now I'm looking again and think it could also be used as a big sister helping a younger one. Love that stamps can become a different meaning to different people. Hope you enjoy the time left with Grace and Mark before they go home. Xx

  5. Evening bloggy friends, hope you have all been in the warm today. No snow here but really cold. Watched a Christmas film called 'The Holiday' this afternoon, such a good film. Have fun everyone. Xx

  6. This is a wonderful canvas Barbara and Mark and Grace seem so mature for their years. I'm sure when their age I would not have been so self assured. Our son is 40 this coming year and he has made a good life for himself in Australia and he is a credit to us and more importantly to himself and like any parents we are proud of his achievements, and we have some long chats on Skype which make us feel closer. When they are home it is good to really listen and you and your kids obviously communicate very well. x

  7. Hi Barbara
Beautiful artwork, that's such a lovely stencil and a gorgeous stamp, I can see Mark and Grace in it. It's lovely having the kids around isn't it. My friend came today, we met at school when we were 5 ( many moons ago), our daughters are a year apart in age and are both at Uni, so it was a chance for us all to catch up, it was lovely listening to the girls chatter about their experiences and friends. Enjoy the time you have with them, I know how proud you are of them. I'm going to share the song with my daughter tomorrow, she loves folk music.
    Love Diane xxxx

  8. Hello Barb, what a beautiful image and a loving tribute to your children. Yes they live far away, but bring joy wherever they are and even more so when they are home. Enjoy the time you spend with them. Take care all. Bx

  9. Listened to Chris Woods' song, very poignant. Love the canvas you've done too, haven't got that stamp but can see a son and daughter in it. Be the wrong way round for my children as my daughter is the oldest. Enjoy the rest of their time with you making more memories.xx

  10. You sound to have had a wonderful time. Love the stories and photos and your artwork. I am in a very snowy Canada with family which is lovely, most of the time they are off skiing. The scenery is just like jane's groovi.
We have had 28cm of snow in the last 24 hours, very pretty.
It is great when your family come home. Enjoy the rest of their visit. Love xxx
