I so enjoyed the 2-hour slot, didn’t you? I think I will reach out to the powers that be, and ask whether we can set that in stone next year. It just gives us so much more serious demonstration time. We can but try…
I’ll let you in on a little secret. I never have talkback when I am demonstrating on TV. i.e. I decline the little pod in the ear which allows me to hear the producer and the camera director. When I’m flying solo, without a presenter, then of course I need it, but when I am working with a super competent presenter like Hayley, then she does that bit, right? So yesterday our Paul was in the gallery, with the producer and director, watching from there. When the producer suggested to Hayley to move to a product recap, I just ploughed on with the demo, and Hayley – who knows me well – laughed and stuck with me. Paul told me later, that the producer tried several times to cut away, and several times Hayley tried to get me to stop – and I just kept going. OH! Just one more thing! Oh! Hang on! Let me just show you this trick! Oh Hayley! I need to show you this idea – etc etc etc. You know the way I go on. Anyway, after the show – the multiple sell out, very successful show – Paul turned to the producer, and said, ”That’s why she doesn’t want talkback”. “Because she’s got so much to think about with the demos?” asked the producer. “No. So you can’t tell her to stop demonstrating!” 🥰. She laughed out loud. I am sure it must be frustrating working with me, but IT WORKS, it really does.
Seriously though, I am only interested in putting on a pleasant, entertaining, informative, kind show, presenting beautiful, top quality, innovative products at great prices. If we can do that, the sales will always follow. Simple as that.
In the meantime, it’s time to get those Open Day Festivities organised. We’ve got another countdown going on at Clarity!
14 days to our OPEN DAYS!!
Whilst half the team is pedalling like crazy, working on getting your Autumn Sale orders out, others are gearing up for that! Oh boy, oh boy. I could get on the “but I want to retire” bus. But I’m having far too much fun! This is what keeps us young. I may feel like I’ve been hit by said bus this morning, but Paul and I had the best time yesterday. And we sold out of a load of products too! Which is amazing. Thank you.
We’re taking a break from Clarity TV tomorrow (Friday 31st). So we can focus on getting those orders out, and give you a day off too! BUT. Paul and I are back on Sunday, to showcase something REALLY BRILLIANT!!!! We cannot wait to show you!

Hi Barb, I love the fact that you stand your ground on the talkback. It must be so distracting. I really prefer the demos without the constant product overview (which Hayley is very good at including by the way). About to rewatch the show on catch up as there were bits where I was distracted. By work, can you believe it??? 🙂 Take care everyone. Bx

When will they learn that your demos sell the products not someone talking about them. I had to smile at the producers & Pauls comments 😂. Keep doing what you do best – demoing & I don’t blame you for refusing to have an earpiece.
As to Sundays show I will watch on catch up as the family are coming for lunch to celebrate 244 years of birthdays – there are 3 of us 😂although at times I feel that old these days !!
I love your style – it’s great to watch and it works! Personally, I’m more inspired by watching the fabulous things you can create rather than looking at a pack shot that I’ve already seen, and listening to a description that I’ve already heard. Granted, some people may have just tuned in, but by that stage of the programme the majority have already seen the product display and heard the description numerous times. I think you were absolutely right to plough on with the ‘just one more thing’ approach.

so pleased to hear it went well. I don’t often watch TV but I’ll try and watch your demos. for me it is watching you create and showing us how to use the product that makes me want to buy.
Keep doing what you are doing Barb, yesterday’s show was the best by far and Hayley works well with you. The sell outs prove that this approach is so right.
Try to slow down a bit but keep having fun with your creations although with your active mind you will always be coming up with new ideas. Retirement can come later as long as you stay healthy.

Fabulous show – as always. You always make me laugh and it’s you and your demo’s that we are interested in. Love the new items and cannot wait to see what comes on Sunday. I put in an extra large order in the sale as a retirement present to myself (retired today) and just know I’ll be adding something else – hey ho, cant take it with me! Thank you for all you do 🥰
Good for you, still have some of the show to catch up with as ha to stop mid way to take Mikey for his checkup, not good in that he has VERY high blood pressure and he doesn’t realise how bad it is – I keep telling him as I try to get a tablet in him! I’ve just sent for one of those pill shooters as I want him to have it properly and not always crushed in food. Anyway I digress, can wait to see what you have in store for us on Sunday! X
