Back behind the wheel tomorrow…
Hi there
Just a quickie to let you know we’re back in Blighty! Maybe you didn’t even realise we were gone! And in we, I mean Sam Crowe and myself. She and I went on a 3-week long, arty, inspiration gathering road trip, from San Francisco to Albuquerque. It was pretty epic, and we did indeed experience so, so much. There were things we had planned, and there were things that simply presented themselves; we seized those unique moments with both hands.
We had a great time, but it was good to get back home to Dave and the cats, and I bet Sam was happy to get back home to the family and Skye too. Look what I came home to…

Have you ever been on a road trip like that? Come on, tell us where you started, where you ended and the distance.
Here’s ours in a nutshell:
We started in San Francisco, California, finished in Santa Fé, New Mexico. Distance 1,200 miles.
But today is Sunday, England Lionesses are in the football final right now (I can’t watch – makes me too anxious, so I am writing to you from the other room, and listening to Dave going through the agony of actually watching).
So I thought perhaps it would be cool to get back on the SHAC bus tomorrow, and take you on some of the highlight parts of our road trip. We can doodle together, and catch up. I kept a diary while we were away, so I can remember loads!
Blast. Spain just scored. 1-0. And that’s why I am in here, writing to you. Early days yet. But we knew it would be tight, didn’t we?
Anyway, I shall be getting the SHAC bus out of the Clarity Depot tomorrow at 10am. If you fancy joining in, having a catch up, then I shall see you there. I have a feeling Sam will be struggling with the jet lag, but she may be up and joining in. She had another final leg up to Newcastle before she could finally relax at home.
On a totally different note, Dave and I went to a fabulous little craft fair at Michelham Priory this morning. It was so lovely. A friend of mine, Glenice, was exhibiting her immaculate ceramic art there. It was good to see her again, and enjoy her pottery. She is brilliant. Very different to my stuff. I can’t wait to get with the clay again.
Then we watched the Morris dancers, and even got invited to join in! Sam, if you’re reading this, you would have loved it! It’s way more energetic that you might think though!

Hang on. Let me find an action pic…

There ya go. If anybody had told me on Saturday, that I’d be Morris dancing at Michelham Priory on Sunday, I’d have laughed. But wait till I tell you about our dancing in Pacific Grove! You just never know what’s around the corner, do you…
See you tomorrow at 10am.
Love always
Barb x x x
PS Looks like they’re having a big blanket sale over at Claritycrafts.com
Anybody know when it ends?

Welcome back – we missed you ! Lot going on for me while you’ve been away. Will catch up with tomorrow as hubby as doctor’s appointment at 10 – he’s been what’s going on with falls and his knee letting him down but worst bit was terrific pain he had. When he says call an ambulance (15 hour wait!) I know it’s bad. He couldn’t come to Mum’s funeral, it wasn’t worth the risk for him and extra stress for me. Calmed down a bit now and it might be arthritis but yet to be confirmed. Oncology made him have an MRI scan which happened Friday – they rang in the morning and said could we go at 6.45 p.m. that day, of course we could.
Look forward to hearing all about your travels ! Oooh we equalised ! Xxx
Sale? What Sale 😹😹😹 my parcel arriving tomorrow 🤞
Ah Jackie. So sorry to hear that things are tough for you at this time. See you tomorrow eh xxx
Welcome home & I will be there at 10 to hear all about your travels with Sam !! I am sure you have some wonderful tales to tell us & I bet your head is buzzing with ideas for new things at Clarity. Wonder how quickly the first one will hit the website. The timescale was discussed on Friday – but we will have to wait & see who was nearest 😂😂
Sale what sale? there might be a few things in my basket !! The Clarity Elves have been working really hard whilst you have been away but don’t worry it finishes at midnight tomorrow xx
In to extra time now so the agony goes on but in true Lioness fashion they are not giving in.
They won!!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!!!
I forgot to say my longest road/boat trip was catching the ferry from Plymouth to Bilbao then driving in our motorhome across the Alps on the Spanish side before crossing over the top to Lourdes & then straight (more or less) up the centre of France to Dieppe stopping off as an interesting place appeared, nothing booked just looked for a campsite each afternoon or so. a total of about 2000 miles. Great fun but don’t think I could do it now but we have the memories to look back on x
YAY!!
Maggie (York UK) xx
PS – with the embedders – do you stamp first then embed or embed first? Just wondered.
I always stamp first then embed and hope I’ve got it straight !
thanks kitten!
😻
Good to have you back, what an exciting trip. Look forward to hearing all about it xx
Welcome home, great to have you back! I’m looking forward to hearing all about your travels and I’ll be catching the SHAC bus at 10am tomorrow. Ding ding!
I’m avoiding watching the footy too although I can hear it. (As I type it’s 1-1 and into extra time). Come on Lionesses!
My most epic road trip was a 1,250 mile cycle ride from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. I cycled with my daughter who was living in Vietnam at the time and we, along with a small group of other riders raised money for children’s charities. It was 6 years ago now but the amazing memories I have from that trip will be with me forever!
Wowee!!! Epic xxxx
Welcome Home!
Welcome home, will catch the shac bus tomorrow. Looking forward to hearing about your travels. Didn’t watch the football, not my thing, took my dog a walk instead, but pleased we won. Waiting till tomorrow to put my sale order in, I think I’ve got my list ready, but want to do a final check in case I’ve missed anything or am ordering something I already have!!
Welcome home! I shall have to watch you on catch up as I didn’t think you would be on the shac shac tomorrow!😢 and arranged to go out! Watched the extra time and penalties of the women’s football! I didn’t think we would win! Marvellous achievement for all! You sound as though you haven’t stopped since you got home! Wish I had your energy! Have a good evening.x
Your elves have been busy while you have been away. I placed an order on Friday 25th in the morning, had an email in the afternoon to say it was on its way. Can’t do much better than that. Thank you to all the team, Wonderful service as usual.
Thanks Sandie
Can’t wait to see what good ideas you have brought back.
Welcome back – we have missed you! It will be lovely to hear about your fab adventures! Looking forward to the forthcoming SHACs! Xxx
Welcome home Barbara, glad you had such a good time😀
My longest road trip was from Cairns to Melbourne in a Holden Commadore aka the beast. It took us 5 weeks, we then went to New Zealand for a month in a camper van. We loved every minute x
Glad your both home safe a d sound having by the sound of things a fab time. You have definitely been missed. I for one will be waiting at the front of the queue to get on the bus. See you in the morning.xx
Welcome home! Fab to have you back!
My longest road trip was probably driving around New Zealand over 35 years ago. We covered both North & South islands, driving about 1750 miles (although not all in one go – there was a flight and a ferry crossing in between the various legs!) Two years ago we did the Indian Pacific train trip across Australia from Perth to Sydney – a total of 2,388 miles! It took 4 days (and it was a sleeper train!)
Looking forward to seeing you back in action and hearing all the tales you have to tell xx
Welcome back, you were missed.
Not into football but pleased England won. About time women were recognised for their achievements whoever they are.
The Clarity elves have been exceptionally good at getting orders out, some being dispatched the same day. Thanks to them all for their dedication.
Was struggling with some picot cutting so got my eyes checked,,ordered magnifying specs for crafting, they messed up the order so I’ve been a month without those and readers. All sorted now thank goodness. Now I can carry on with my work and complete several projects.
WELCOME BACK.
Welcome Back Barb and Sam, can’t wait to hear about the trip and all the ideas you have gathered. Well done Lionesses. Will try join the Shac this morning, depending on work. Take care everyone work is a bit………. Bx
Welcome home. Will have to watch the Shac on catch up as I didn’t think it would be on this morning and have to go out now. My longest trip was in a camper van with two children from Port Douglas to Brisbane in Australia. We travelled every day from 6.00am to about 6.00pm for four days so as to be able to return said camper van on time. It was epic. Looking at a map we thought we could do it in about three days at a leisurely pace but were told you must be joking mate. We really didn’t have a clue as to how far it actually was.
Welcome home! Looking forward to hearing all about your road trip!
Welcome Home, we missed you. Can’t to hear all the wonderful things you did.
