I was looking at this week’s Clarity TV schedule, and up popped some of our lovely Bijou entwined wreaths and SHAC framers. Deborah Wheeler is playing with them tomorrow at 10am and 2pm. I look forward to seeing what loveliness she comes up with.

I LOVE these seasonal wreath-building stamps!

I remember drawing them too! The thing about the Entwined Wreaths (I’ll pop the link in at the end of this ere blog), is that you can make them look so different every time! Whether you add little elements which come in the sets, or actually stretch the stamps on the mount to create a whole new shape! So useful! In other words, you can manipulate and stretch the entwined frames to accommodate whatever you want to frame.

Here’s a project I did a while ago, where I wanted to frame two of those lovely floral Alphabet letters we’ve been looking at recently. Would make a superb wedding card, or anniversary card. Here Japonica meets Viola. Or John meets Vera. Or Julia meets Vince. You get the picture…I stretched the entwined framer a bit, to get the letters in.

I recall that at the time I was using the larger versions of both designs, but I have checked, and the Bijou framers work perfectly with the Bijou floral ABC. We are retiring the large Entwined Framers. I think there are a handful left, if you prefer them, but we want to focus on the smaller ones.

Couldn’t resist. Had to add the second bird too…Now all I need is to find a J-V couple, or a person with these initials!

Back to the original artwork. Let’s just take a look at the way you can transform and connect both the framers and the letters with nothing but a little pencil colour….

Let’s add half an hour and a tin of Polychromos to this and see where we end up…

Drop shadow makes all the difference….

Back when I did this project I found the perfect background paper in the Sweet Dreams book. We have sold out of this one, but are planning on bringing back a new fresh version of it in the Springtime – they are so lovely!

You’d never think that these neat and pristine ABC stamps would sit so well on such a grungy background. But they do!
